Higher-Study (go.learnpact.com) is our study-abroad platform. It helps a student and their family choose a course, a city and a first-year budget that actually belong together. You are the person behind it: you pick up each student after the shortlist, tell them honestly what their profile and budget can reach, build the application package with them, and stay with them through offer, visa and departure — removing whatever is blocking the next step.
What you'll do
- Work the counsellor queue on Higher-Study: every student who finishes a match or asks for help gets a real answer the same day.
- Read the academic profile, budget and target intake, then give an honest view of which courses, universities and countries are realistically open — including when the answer is not this year.
- Bring parents into the decision: walk them through first-year cost, living expenses, funding routes and the risks, in the language they are comfortable in.
- Build the application-ready package — course and intake choice, documents, English-test plan, SOP and recommendation guidance, deadlines — and keep it moving before the intake closes.
- Hand the completed package to our admissions partner and remain the student's single point of contact through offer, visa, funding and departure. We do not run the visa file ourselves; you make sure nothing stalls between the parties who do.
- Keep each case record honest — evidence, consent, next action, status — and flag any course fact (fee, intake, entry requirement) that looks stale so the content team can correct it.
- Report weekly on students counselled, packages made ready, offers received, and where people are getting stuck.
What we're looking for
- 1–3 years counselling students on overseas admissions, or education counselling with real exposure to at least one destination (UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, Dubai, Germany).
- Working knowledge of intakes, entry requirements, English-test routes (IELTS / PTE / Duolingo) and how a family actually funds a year abroad.
- Willing to tell a family that a plan does not fit their profile or their budget, and to rebuild it — rather than push an application through and hope.
- Organised enough to hold many cases at different stages without a deadline slipping.
- Fluent in Bengali and English; Hindi is an advantage.
- Able to take a few evening calls a week across time zones, and the occasional Saturday at peak intake.
- Based in Kolkata and able to work on-site.
Helpful, not required
- Hands-on experience with one corridor's documentation — UK CAS, US I-20, Ireland, Canada.
- Familiarity with a counselling CRM or a university application portal.
- Exposure to education loans and financial documentation.
What your first year looks like
Corridors learned in week one, the student queue yours by week two, and your first application packages accepted by our admissions partner without rework.
Cases run end to end, the first offers landing, and a follow-through rhythm that keeps nobody's intake slipping.
Application-ready volume for an intake is yours, and so is the offer conversion that follows it.
A full intake cycle delivered — applications, offers, and students who actually flew — with our admissions partner taking your packages as they come, and referrals arriving because you were straight with people.
Eight questions first.
They take under a minute and tell you straight away whether this role fits. Your answers go into the application email, so nobody repeats themselves later.
